I am now fully vaccinated against Covid-19. I decided to get immunized in the middle of May. I had held off due to my age, even though I was eligible. There was such poor uptake locally that I decided to get it – I was worried they’d otherwise go to waste.
That visit, there was barely anyone else there. There was no-one in front of me and barely anyone else there.
This week, I got my second vaccine. Victoria recently experienced a small, localized outbreak. People rushed to get vaccines. Some Melbourne people were coming down to Geelong and waiting for hours. I didn’t witness any of this during my visit. There were a lot more people in the waiting room afterwards, but it was still similar to the first experience. This was partially due to no walk ins being allowed, as they were trying to ensure supply to those needing their second vaccine.
There were a couple of people in front of me. There was one anti vaxxer outside the entrance to the car park, but we has respectful.
It was a brilliantly organized process. My main annoyance with the vaccine has been poor messaging from the federal government and poor uptake prior to the Covid-19 escaping quarantine.
