Local Exhibition: Who’s Who Portrait Prize

Jade Craven · November 15, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Coinciding with the Geelong Gallery’s presentation of the Art Gallery of New South Wales‘ 2018 Archibald Prize, this student prize marks Jules Francois Archibald’s connection to Geelong and aims to encourage and inspire young artists to celebrate local or regional identities, their personal histories and achievements—through portraiture.

We tracked down displays of these artworks across the CBD.

Worksafe

These weren’t on display at the actual Worksafe building. Rather, they were on a storefront on the opposite side of Malop Street.

Storyfest Mural: Alice In Wonderland At The Library

Jade Craven · August 6, 2018 · Leave a Comment

This piece was commissioned as part of Storyfest. According to Forte Magazine,

Storyfest is a celebration of storytelling in all its forms, and is aimed at children aged 3-16, and the adults in their life. Children can participate in fun activities, performances, workshops, exhibitions and competitions – led by artists, storytellers, educators and entertainers.

You can find it at Level 1 of the library. This is the children’s section so you have to press the green button to enter. You may also have to be patient as kids wander close to the mural. I was definitely impressed with the library set up.

The artist is Scott Jansen. [Read more…] about Storyfest Mural: Alice In Wonderland At The Library
